■　The End and the Beginning　■

　

この個展のための作品を作り始めたころ、読み返していたのは前述のシンボルスカの詩集の他にルネ・デュボス「内なる神」があった。そこにカラハリ砂漠のクング・ブッシュマンの医者クワング・ナという老婦人の言葉が紹介されている。
 

「世界には色々な種類の人がいます。まず第一に黒人。彼らは家畜を飼い、穀物を栽培し、彼ら独特の魔法に基づく医術を持っています。次に白人。彼らはトラックやオートバイを持ち、先の尖った針の中に、彼ら独特の医術を持っています。次に赤色人、私たちブッシュマン。私たちはトラックをもたないが、モンゴンゴの実があり私たち独特の治療術を持っています。・・・・これらは違った生活様式を持った違った種類のひとびとではあります。でも私たちは中身は皆同じなのです。私たちの身体の内に流れる血は、同じ色なのです。・・・私たちは実は単に一つの民族であるにすぎません。

There are different kinds of people in the world; first there are black people,they raise cattle and crops, and have their own kind of medicine which is based on society. They there people, and these people have trucks, and motor vehicles,and they have their own kind of medicine which is contained in sharp needles. Then there are red people, us Bushman; we don't have trucks or cattle, but we have the Mongongo nut, but we also have our own kind of medicine and that s the kind of healing I do....and so you see these are the different kinds of people with the different ways of life, but inside we are all the same. The blood that is inside our bodies is the same color...we are really only one people. <by Kwang-na--famous as a doctor among the Kung Bushman of Kalahari Desert>
